About Us

The team putting the ‘paw’
into pawfect!

Leconfield Kennels and Cattery is a family-run business. We’re situated down a country lane in the lovely village of Leconfield, near Beverley, East Yorkshire. We’re open 7 days a week all year round. Feel free to pop in and visit us!

We’ve always wanted to work with animals and are thrilled to be able to do this in such a beautiful place. We live on site with our three children, their Gran and 2 dogs, Alfie and Louis, and resident cat, Penny.

Looking after animals takes work, but, to us, it’s a joy and we feel privileged to be able to provide this service and we get to know and love all our furry visitors as though they’re part of our own family.

Why choose us for your fluffy friend?

We care about your pet. And we care about you. We’ll do everything we can to ensure a stress-free, relaxing visit for your furry loved one including lots of cuddles (if they want them!) and playtime to keep them stimulated. We’re building new play areas for cats and dogs (separately, of course) and invite you to come and see the kennels and cattery before you book, if you’d like to.

Our drop-off and collection times are set to tried and trusted times of the day to minimise disruption and allow seamless hand-over of your beloved furry friend. To see our drop-off and pick-up times please view our FAQs.

Alfie

One of the 'real bosses'

Hi, I’m Alfie, an 8-year-old Shiatzu – the one-eyed pirate who keeps everyone in check. I’ve lived with Joanne and Nigel since I was 12 weeks old. I like to be the boss, have my belly rubbed and be fed treats, when I am not snoozing of course. I love being the boss at Leconfield Kennels and Cattery because I get to sniff around all day and tell my humans what to do!

Louis

One of the 'real bosses'

Hi, I’m Louis, a 12-year-old Lhasa Apso. I have been at Leconfield since birth and was adopted by Joanne and Nigel in October when they moved in, as I loved the kennels so much that I did not want to leave. I never sleep and enjoy being one of the top dogs inspecting all the good work and cosy environment my new family are creating. I love being one of the bosses at Leconfield Kennels and Cattery because it’s simply my favourite place in the world and I wouldn’t be happy anywhere else.

Penny

Another of the 'real bosses'

Hi, I’m Penny the cat. I’m not really sure how old I am but I came to Leconfield 4 or 5 years ago and everyone was so nice here I decided to stay. I was sad when the old owners went but I love Jo and Nigel now and they look after me really well, so I’ll definitely be staying! I’m in charge of all the cats and all the dogs (though don’t tell Alfie and Louis that), plus I keep the humans in check too by reminding them when it’s feeding time. My favourite day is when the new hay bales arrive – I make a nest for myself in there and it’s all cosy and warm. I love it at Leconfield!
